Link statuses
What makes a page unauthorised, what active, resolved and reappeared mean, how the whitelist changes them, and what the numbers on the home page count.
Every page that ranks for one of your queries and is not on your whitelist becomes a tracked link. The status tells you where it is in its life.
What counts as unauthorised
A page is recorded as unauthorised when it ranks for one of your queries and its domain is not on the whitelist. Nothing else is judged: the system does not decide whether a page is legitimate, only whether it is yours. That is why the whitelist matters — it is the whole definition of "yours".
Statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Active | The page is currently ranking for at least one query. It was seen in the latest collection. |
| Resolved | The page was ranking and is no longer seen. Either it was removed, or it dropped out of the collected positions. |
| Reappeared | The page was resolved and has been seen again — at the same address. A page that returns at a new address is a new link. |
| Archived | Taken out of the working list by hand or by whitelisting; kept for the record. |
A status changes only with a collection. A page resolved today was absent in today's snapshot; it may be back tomorrow.
Whitelisting after the fact
Adding a domain to the whitelist does two things: pages on it are no longer recorded, and the ones already recorded are cleared from the working list. If a notice was already queued for such a page, it is withdrawn. This is the emergency exit for a partner reported by mistake.
What the home page counts
- Unauthorised links right now — active and reappeared links across your projects.
- Found this week — links first seen in the last seven days.
- Notices this week — notices sent in the last seven days.
- Last collection / next — the most recent run across queries, and the next one due.

Positions and traffic estimate
Each link keeps its latest position. The estimate of traffic a link takes is derived from that position and the query's volume, where a volume was given. It is an estimate of what the search sends, not a measurement of what the page receives.
